Experience built in complex environments
Paraxus is led by Martin Fawley, an operations and programme leader with more than 20 years of experience helping organisations turn complex ambitions into practical delivery.
His career has spanned aerospace, defence, space, communications, security and technology — from established international businesses to early-stage companies building new products, capabilities and organisations.
Most recently, as Programme Director at Methera Global Communications, Martin's remit extended well beyond programme delivery: working alongside the CEO and Board across operations, finance, people, governance, commercial matters and organisational growth.
That breadth is what sits behind Paraxus - senior operational leadership without the assumption that every organisation needs another permanent executive.
Why fractional?
Senior leadership doesn't always need to be full-time
Growing businesses often reach a point where complexity starts to outpace structure.
There are more people, more customers, more suppliers and more commitments. Delivery becomes harder to see. Decisions take longer. The CEO gets pulled deeper into day-to-day operations. But the business may not need — or be ready for — another full-time executive.
That's where fractional leadership can work.
A fractional COO brings experienced operational leadership into the business at the level and intensity it actually needs: helping establish structure, strengthen delivery, improve visibility and turn strategic priorities into action.
It isn't outsourced management. And it isn't consultancy that ends with a report.
It's experienced leadership, embedded where it's needed, for as long as it's useful.

Why Paraxus?
Paraxus is deliberately straightforward: independent advice, practical support and the flexibility to use as much — or as little — help as you need.
Straight talking
Clear advice, honest challenge and no management jargon. If something isn't working, we'll say so — and focus on what we can do about it.
Pragmatic
The right solution is the one that works for your organisation. Proportionate processes, useful governance and enough structure to create control — not bureaucracy for its own sake.
No strings attached
No preferred suppliers, products or partner solutions to push. Recommendations are based on what your business needs, not on commissions, affiliations or a route to the next piece of work.
Hands on
Advice has its place, but Paraxus is about getting things done. We'll work alongside your team, take ownership where needed and help turn decisions into action.
Flexible
Fractional, interim, advisory or project-based support. Scale the level of involvement up or down as circumstances change, without creating a permanent overhead.
Built to leave
The objective isn't to make Paraxus indispensable. It's to leave behind stronger capability, clearer processes and an organisation that operates effectively without us.
What people say
Martin was employed as the Programme Director at a company that was developing a complex and challenging space-based service. He rapidly stepped up to the role of Chief Operations Officer as well as his own.
Totally trustworthy, adaptable and industrious he was a strong and influential member of the leadership team. Working across operations, finance, HR, governance and commercial matters, he clearly excels when under pressure.
What I valued most was his ability to take ownership, bring structure to difficult problems and turn decisions into action. He combines sound judgement with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and consistently made things happen.

I really enjoyed working with Martin. He was a hugely valued colleague, someone we could always rely on, and an excellent team motivator.
He brought calm, practical leadership across a very broad remit, was equally comfortable working with senior executives and the wider team, and made a real difference through his strengths in programme delivery, grant management, innovation and operational leadership.
